John Cage was a loud quiet guy reading blog

After the reading, I can say that a lot more about John Cage makes sense. He didn't want to be a lone salmon swimming upstream but instead proposed that all salmon exit the stream and watch it for a while. The role of a musical rebel is an interesting one, Just because each piece was still given the same thought and possibly effort as a full-scale orchestra. It was nice to know that he wasn't void of emotion or thought, as well as not being in it for the money. I mean even to go and make money in an alternative way just going out in the forest and picking mushrooms. I liked that he was able to go up to one of his performance members and tell them that they were doing it wrong. It shows that there is more depth to it all than on the surface level. He played a cemented role in the branching of art in music. The same way other "misunderstood" artists bridged the gap between the mind and physical art. He asked the question of why art has to be physical in the first place. The performance itself has the same weight to it as a framed painting on the wall. His actions would lead people to be speechless and asks the question; does it matter if it's speechless in awe or confusion? To him, it didn't matter. He created not just to create, but to deliver his own message in a way that wasn't coated in irony or parody but of an intellect that forced people to get it or pretend to. Very similar to all other great visual artists
